Lionel Jin is pursuing an M.A. in Global Affairs at Tsinghua University with the Schwarzman Scholars program. He is passionate about how technology shapes society, and as editor-in-chief of the Yale Scientific Magazine shaped the publication to help readers better understand how scientific advances will impact their lives. Lionel graduated from Yale with a B.S./M.S. in Molecular Biology and a double major in Computer Science. He received the Russell Chittenden Prize, the highest award for math and science at the college. He also served on the Executive Board of European Horizons, helping manage the finances of the organization and leading a study trip to understand the secession crisis in Catalonia. Lionel grew up in Singapore, where he commissioned as an infantry officer and subsequently served as a platoon commander in the Air Force.
