Deputy Executive Director
For most of his life, William Rohde Madsen has lived in Copenhagen, Denmark.
He currently studies his BSc in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at UCL in London, where his enthusiasm for European and transatlantic affairs grew as British politicians debated Brexit, a problem that has yet to relent.
Brexit then lead William to the Harvard Kennedy School in 2019, where he co-organised and headed the research of the Brexit workshop at the annual European Conference. Previously, he was the Chairman of the Youth Council of Frederiksberg in Denmark, advising the mayor on youth policy.
Some of his interests include the EU's foreign policy, globalisation and big data politics. Following the European Parliamentary elections of 2019, William looks forward to seeing how the EU deals with challenges of inequality, climate and global unrest.
He is especially excited to experience how his role as Deputy Executive Director will help contribute to a global discussion on the EU's future.
William will gain further experience as a Research Assistant at the think tank EUROPA in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he will write memos and co-organise events on European and Denmark-EU affairs.
