Who We are
European Horizons is a US-based, non-partisan think-tank devoted to exploring the meaning of European identity, modernizing and reforming the concept of the social market economy, advancing the cause of European integration, and deepening transatlantic relations. To this end, European Horizons has established a network of students, professors, and European decision-makers, with links to academia, politics, civil society, and business. Together, we will engage in a constructive dialogue that will propound a platform of ideas for reforming the European Union and setting a policy vision for its future. Having grown up in a Europe increasingly aware of its shared and common responsibility, we believe in the promise of the European project, European integration, and the European Union. European Horizons seeks to achieve three goals: i) By bridging the gap between youth and policy by giving opportunities to future leaders to publish their views and meet experts. ii) Through catalyzing the future careers of our membership by exposing them to the fields such as security, politics, technology, commerce and more. iii) By building a connected, international network of talented students, policy experts and politicians and companies. Through organizing events, connecting people, and putting forward new ideas, European Horizons endeavours to weave a more integrated social fabric in Europe and to strengthen the confidence of our Union.
“All of you here today are absolutely critical to the EU transatlantic relationship…European Horizons plays a crucial role in preparing the leaders of tomorrow to tackle Europe’s challenges. As the only transatlantic student-run think tank in the world, European Horizons has built a uniquely valuable network of students, professors, and decision-makers across the world…Seeing so many representatives of various constituencies gathered here today, I know the future is in good hands.”
– Frederick Kempe, President and CEO at the Atlantic Council
“It was a great pleasure for me to open the European
Student Conference at Yale. It was truly impressive to see their great grasp of EU issues. I welcome the many initiatives and policy recommendations coming out of this conference and I am certain the launch of their think tank will spur further interest in the European Union in universities across the U.S.”
– David O’Sullivan, Ambassador of the EU to the U.S.
“European Horizons is an inspiring organization and a great gathering of energetic young minds devoted to critically examining the challenges facing the EU and the world today. With each conference and summit, subsequent publications and the expansion of new chapters, EuH is helping to generate new narratives of what the EU represents both internally and on the global stage.”
– Dr. Vicki Birchfield, Professor at Georgia Tech and Co- Director of Center for European and Transatlantic Studies
